MARINE ART MARITIME ART BY MARINE ARTIST ADRIAN RIGBY
Marine art, Maritime art done by one Of The World’s Leading Painters of the genre including America’s Cup
Adrian Rigby showcases his marine art and maritime art in galleries on both sides of the Atlantic. Some of the tony galleries that feature his marine art, (including the America’s Cup) are in London, Manchester, Palm Beach, Naples, Newport and Manhattan.
Marine artist Adrian Rigby has taken hundreds of photos of the ocean to study how the waves and colors react according to locations, skies and wind etc. His opinion is that collectors can be very vigilant and if a yacht angle doesn’t appear to match the wind and waves it will not be considered an accurate painting. Being a great painter in of itself is insufficient as regards to historical marine art.
Additionally, as an expert in cloud painting, Adrian Rigby finds it equally as important as the subject matter in marine art. He feels the sky and the sea can be two thirds of the painting in maritime art so if you get that wrong, the whole piece is shot before you even start on the subject.
Adrian has purchased almost every book available on America’s Cup Jclass to see how each yacht performed in any particular sea, wind or tack. This most popular era of America’s Cup appears to be the most requested theme of marine art.
